Parasites
Accompanying recipe: Miso-Scallion Chutney
If you’ve an acute disease or chronic health problem, the odds are that you’ve got parasites. Their havoc ranges from the common cold to some forms of cancer. (See the A-Z Lists of Parasitic Diseases.)
Parasites invade and live off of their host. In the case of humans, they serve no useful function. Technically speaking, intestinal parasites are either worms or protozoa. Practically speaking, however, the more primitive life forms—bacteria, fungi, virus and yeast—are also parasites.
Intestinal parasites create problems. One is who they eat; another is what they excrete. You absorb the worms’ expelled ammonia and other wastes. This mucks up your bowels, liver, skin, kidneys and lungs. Their toxins compromise your health, cause allergic reactions and weaken your immune system. Whereas, the more primitive parasites damage or even mutate your cells.
Diabetes and hypoglycemia can be caused by tapeworms. Giardia can trigger chronic fatigue and candida type yeast infections. Amoeba can cause colitis and roundworms can be misdiagnosed as a peptic ulcer.
Chlorine-resistant giardia, to name just one, infects many municipal water supplies and swimming pool outbreaks are common. According to the Center for Disease Control, approximately two million Americans are annually diagnosed with these microscopic protozoa.
Every human intestinal tract contains yeast—it’s normal. If, however, your inner ecology is out of balance then yeast proliferates. You can't see the yeast, but various symptoms suggest their overpopulation. They include bloating, a frothy scum in your stool, candida, toenail fungus or athlete's foot.
Or, say you picked up some roundworm eggs from a bite of salad. Once mature, a female roundworm can lay two million eggs in a day! If your diet supports their hatching, they can literally block your intestines. Whereas, for example, a virus like herpes can remain dormant for years. However, with stress or weakened immunity you can blossom a cold sore in hours.
Purge and Prevent Parasites
You’ll find that as you eliminate parasites, your symptoms will clear up. What a relief! If you harbored round or tape worms, you might even see them ejected from your bowels.
The good news is there are natural remedies to eliminate the vermin (or, in the case of viruses, to keep them dormant). You can get rid of the worms with natural and inexpensive remedies available at your natural food store and on the internet.
My eBook, Bugs Eating You? includes complete instructions on how to safely get rid of worms and protozoa. Bus Eating You? also provides comprehensive details on how to keep bacteria, fungi, yeast and viruses at bay. This easy to use eBook is available here.
This month’s featured recipe is Miso-Scallion Chutney. As this condiment aids digestion, it’s a tasty way to support your digestive system and, therefore, your overall health.
