How to Prevent the Flu
Accompanying recipe: Creamy (Dairy-Free) Mashed Potatoes
The media advises "cough etiquette" as flu protection. This is both polite and prudent. Here’s a more potent preventative measure: Strengthen your immune system.
Bugs—be they viruses, bacteria, parasites or fungi—thrive in a person with challenged immunity. Whereas, when your own "domestic security" system functions well, the bugs can't get a toe hold. Here are three steps to strengthen your immune system:
- Enjoy foods famous for building the immune system: mushrooms, seaweed, naturally fermented foods, members of the cabbage family and onions and their relatives.
- Enjoy a balanced, whole foods diet; you’ll find support to do so on my web pages. This builds your overall well being and strengthens your immunity.
- Avoid highly refined foods and fats since they challenge your gastrointestinal tract and, ultimately, compromise your immune system.
Also, you may wish to consider my 31 page ebook, Bugs Eating You. It contains natural and inexpensive remedies to protect you from disease causing pathogens.
May you build a strong immune system and remain flu-free.
May you be well nourished!
