Whole Life Nutrition

Accompanying recipe: Red Lentil Dal

If you suffer from chronic health problems, here's a free presentation by author nutritionist Tom Malterre that I highly recommend. Or if your child is irritable or hyper or has trouble concentrating, this is a must see. To view, click on the link above and scroll down to the March 2008 link.

Malterre offers a compelling blend of science and clinical studies to explain malabsorption and its resulting problems. For 30 plus years, in my own consultation practice, I've witnessed how dietary modification dramatically enables regained health.

Tom Malterre and his wife, whole foods chef, Alissa Segersten, are authors of the Whole Life Nutrition Cookbook is a complete nutritional and cooking guide with 100 plus pages of helpful and well-organized information (from stocking your Whole Foods Pantry to Food Allergy Substitution Charts).

The bulk of their book, however, offers over 200 gluten-free, dairy-free and egg-free recipes. The recipes are contemporary and highly flavored like Artichoke and Almond Pate, Quinoa Zucchini Bread, and Decadent Chocolate Bundt Cake.

With minor adaptation, here's a great dal from The Whole Life Nutrition Cookbook, reprinted with permission of the authors.

May you be well nourished!
