Why Portion Control Can't Work
People resort to portion control when their diet is out of control. Why try to fix a faulty diet by eating less of it? Yes, it may help with short term weight loss. However, it is not a long term answer. It’s like lacing yourself so tightly into a corset that you can hardly eat.
Instead, consider a diet that works for you. When meals meet your specific health needs, you can trust your normal appetite, eat your fill and maintain your ideal weight.
I speak from my own experience and my many students and readers who have graduated from endless diets, supplements and gimmicks. We found that by fundamentally changing our diet, diet becomes a non-issue.
When a meal has adequate and quality protein, carbohydrates and fats—it satisfies. You don't overeat. (Unless, that is, you suffer from parasites, yeast conditions or food sensitivities or allergies.)
